Modification of the collection system

The new fee system enters into force on 1 January 2019. The fee will then replace the current device-based reception fee. From January 2019, Swiss households will receive their fee invoice from Serafe, the new Swiss collection agency for the radio and television fee.

A brief explanation of the radio and television fee

On 4 March 2018, the Swiss electorate voted to retain the radio and television reception fees. This means that households and companies will continue to participate in the financing of local, regional and national radio and television stations. From 1 January 2019, however, most of them will pay less thanks to the introduction of a new, simpler and more efficient fee system.
